HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on February 1 launched ‘e-Town Planning’, a provision for filing building permission applications online.

The mayor said citizens could utilise the service to get their building permissions approved in a transparent manner and applicants could also interact with officials online to know the file status regarding cause for delay/rejection, if any. With the new system, the applicant would know details of the file without visiting the GHMC office.

GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar said under the new system, applicants could also question officials for delay if any, of their applications. He directed the town planning officials to clear all building application files, which were submitted earlier by February 28, without fail. He asked the officials to submit a detailed report of the pending files with reasons so that the GHMC could think about the future course of action in settling the pending applicants for approval of building permissions.
