Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s metropolitan commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad issued orders on Saturday delegating more powers to the zonal offices with effect from Monday.

Zonal offices have been established at four places in the city to  decentralise the town planning section and for quick disposal of people’s applications.

To assist the zonal officers a committee has been formed for clearing  all applications with the chief planning officer (CPO) as chairman, zonal officer and assistant zonal officer as members. The representative of accounts section will be a special Invitee for fee calculation and verification.

The CPOs have to visit their respective zonal offices every Monday and Wednesday and hold committee meetings and as frequently as required to dispose of the applications within 30 days. The CPOs will also guide the zonal officers in early disposal of applications.

The AZO will be the authority to sign all plans and proceedings and responsible for their prompt release within seven days of the committee’s decision subject to payment of fees and charges. The zonal offices should not encroach into Sangareddy and Bhongir municipalities and gram panchayats.

The head office and zonal offices will receive all applications but the applications will be transferred to the zonal office concerned or HO on the same day of their receipt.
