HYDERABAD: Burglars gained entry into five houses and two shops at Kokapet on Saturday night and escaped with Rs 5 lakh worth property. The offenders broke into five flats and two shops at block number 5 of Rajiv Gruhakalpa Colony late on Saturday night. The inmates were not present at any of the seven places and property loss was reported from only one house.
The victim, M Krishna, is a private employee. Krishna along with his family went out of the city two days ago and the incident came to light on Sunday morning when a relative, who lives in the neighbourhood, alerted him about the burglary. In his complaint to police, Krishna has stated that 13 tolas of gold, 40 tolas of silver, Rs 50,000 cash, which he had procured for his daughter's upcoming wedding, were stolen by the burglars. "There was no property loss at other places," Narsingi sub-inspector (SI) Mohammed Hafeezuddin said.
Based on the complaint lodged by Krishna, a case was registered under section 457/380 (Burglary) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
