Poor response to 'Property Tax Parishkaram'

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Metropolitan Corporation's second 'Property Tax Parishkaram' programme, organised at all circles on Sunday, received good response from property owners, but the authorities failed to redress their grievances. The programme was conducted between 10 am and 1 pm.

GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar, in an official release, said as many as 634 grievances were received at property tax Parishkaram (PTP) programme-phase II at the18 GHMC circles. The authorities had received 634 complaints and of them 378 complaints were related to revision petitions (RPs). The GHMC staff could dispose of just 75 of 378 RPs.

There were 102 representations for tax assessment and of them15 were disposed of on the spot. Another 154 complaints related to property tax were received.

The aim of the programme was to redress grievances related to pending property mutation, legal cases, revision petitions, new assessment of properties and other tax-related matters.
