DELHI: This Diwali the Noida Authority has planned to allot 866 flats in the middle-income group, high income group, low-income group and economically weaker sections categories. A senior Authority official said around 600 flats, located in Sectors 55, 66, 71, 73, 93, 110 and 135, are of the LIG and EWS categories.
The Authority had come up with a residential flats scheme last in 2006-07. From the past one month, a survey was being conducted to identify unallotted flats which are lying unused for many years. “We are yet to finalize the cost of the flats, but the rates will be cheaper in comparison to existing market rates and this will benefit prospective homebuyers,” said an official, adding that the file is with the finance department to decide the cost.
“The scheme has few MIG and HIG flats. However, EWS and LIG flats are higher in number. We will soon finalize the date on which applicants will be able to purchase forms,” said Akhilesh Singh, deputy CEO, Noida Authority. “The flats will be allotted through lucky draws on Diwali,” he added.
In another development, the Authority has decided to launch another scheme of 501 shops in its Transport Nagar project being developed in Sector 69. The scheme was supposed to be launched on October 15. However, the protest call by transporters and farmers resulted in its delay. The size of the shops meant for office and commercial purpose is 120 square metres.
