CREDAI NCR lauds the decision to expand NCR region
The Board approved the Rajasthan Government request for identification of Jaipur as Counter Magnet Area and the Sub-Regional plan for UP sub-region.

DELHI: The NCR chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI-NCR) has welcomed the decision of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India to add Bhiwani, Mahendragarh and Bharatpur in NCR region and applauded the role of Delhi Government in supporting this futuristic move.

It is noticeable that the NCR Planning Board approved the inclusion of Bhiwani and Mahendragarh districts of Haryana and Bharatpur district of Rajasthan in the National Capital Region yesterday. The Board which met in the capital on Monday under the chairmanship of the Urban Development Minister Shri Kamal Nath also approved the Rajasthan Government request for identification of Jaipur as Counter Magnet Area. The Board also approved the Sub-Regional plan for UP sub-region.

Expressing his greetings, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, President, CREDAI-NCR, says, “It is a futuristic decision with vast ramifications for NCR region. Reports foresee almost 11% increase in urbanization of this area by 2021 and to reduce the pressure on Delhi, there was urgent need to expand the area. Housing forms an indispensable part of developmental need. With land in short supply in present area, it was nothing but essential to expand the area to meet the housing needs of future.”

“Easy and swift movement of people is not only essential to build a sound economy but also for nurturing social structures. Throughout the world, metros are facing acute problem of traffic jam, hence, the authorities are opting for multi-transportation facilities to reduce the burden on roads. In this backdrop, there is urgent need to connect various areas of NCR through multiple mode of transport, including Regional Rapid Transit System,” Dr. Sharma said while making a note of emphasis by Ministry on RRTS.

Adding a cautionary note, Dr. Sharma says, “Merely adding these areas to NCR will not serve the purpose unless infrastructure is developed in a rapid and planned manner. The decision should be followed up with preparation and implementation of Master Plan as soon as possible otherwise builders will start accumulating land, leading to speculative price rise.”
