GURGAON: HUDA has finished working on the modalities of its proposed multilevel parking project in Sector 29, which will have a capacity to house 1,300 cars. The tariffs have been decided and the authority will soon float tenders to select a company to construct and operate the parking facility.
HUDA executive engineer RS Bishnoi said that four acres of land in sector 29 have been earmarked for the 60 crore project. "We have worked out the modalities such as parking ticketing policy, working and operation. For cars, the charge will be Rs 50 for the first three hours and Rs 10 for each hour thereafter," said Bishnoi. "Similarly for two-wheelers, Rs 10 will be charged for the first two hours and Rs 5 per hour after that. We will soon be floating tenders. It will take a tentative period of 21 months to complete," he added.
He explained that they have drafted the terms and conditions on the basis of which the company will run the parking facility. "The amount is the maximum that the company shall charge and we have placed limitations and conditions on increase in tariff. The company cannot increase tariffs each year but only once in three years and that too, not more than 10% of the existing tariff." he said.
He further explained that this parking facility will be given on lease to the private company with a license for the same and Rs 2.5 crore has been fixed as the fee for the same. "However if any company wants to bid for the license we will auction it to the bidder who is willing to pay the highest license fee," he claimed.
