GURGAON: Gurgaon's Sadar police station has registered an FIR against Unitech Realty and seven people in an alleged multi-crore fraud case, following a court order, under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC. Individuals named in the case are Unitech directors Ramesh Chandra, Sanjay Chandra, Ajay Chandra, project managers S K Mahajan, B B Wadhwa, Rajiv Singh and Shikha Mahajan, an authorized signatory.

The court order came after a complaint by nearly 900 people who have booked flats in Unitech's group housing project in Fatehpur village.

The homes were to be handed over to owners, who have made 95% of the payment. But Unitech claimed that entry and exit roads to the project have been encroached upon, because of which it cannot be completed.

Amit Gupta, one of the 900 who filed the petition, said the project was launched after it got all necessary approvals from HUDA and the director of town and country planning.

Unitech's spokesperson said, the complaint against the company is baseless but will provide support to the probe.and frivolous. The issue has been examined by government authorities who did not find any criminality. We'll provide support to the probe, but we reserve the right to take action against such complaints."
