Appreciating the dire need for formally trained manpower to market the product of real estate developers, NAREDCO had taken the initiative to equip the marketing staff of developers and others interested in property brokerage as a profession with necessary knowledge through class room instructions as long back as 2000.  While Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI) of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) has been associated as the technical  partner since initial stages, the course kept gaining momentum and secured formal recognition by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi starting with the course organized in April 2005.  With GGSIPU recognition and growing interest of participants,   the Certificate Course on Real Estate Management has emerged as flagship activity of NAREDCO.  It is particularly useful for real estate agents, sales persons and direct sale & home loan agents associated with housing finance institutions and banks, and for those who are keen to earn their living by these professions.

The 40 hour Course was conducted, as in the past, in the afternoons only (Tuesdays – Fridays), giving opportunity to the participants to attend to their office work alongside over the long duration.  Twenty eight participants completed this course successfully.  These included MBAs, engineering graduates, company secretaries, and so on.   The lecture subjects included:

Regulations and ethics, PPP, Applications of IT, Master Plan of Delhi 2021, Legal aspects, Vaastu, Valuation, Real estate marketing, Housing finance, Tax planning, etc.

The course instructions culminated with a Group Exercise and a presentation by Association of Certified Realtors of India (ACRI).  The faculty was drawn from NAREDCO, HUDCO and developers (DLF, Parsvnath and Assotech New Delhi), besides other experienced subject experts.    The participants exhibited immense interest in the discussions to enrich their knowledge horizon keeping in view the profession they were going to pursue after securing the Certificate.

Participants were invited to give their brief feedback on the course, which indicated that they were more than happy and felt fully equipped to face the rigours of the field exposure in practice.  The feedback was found highly encouraging and constructive; necessary clarifications were also provided to the participants.  It was wound up with closing remarks by Brig (Retd) R R Singh, DG, NAREDCO and Dr S K Gupta, ED (P), HSMI and distribution of certificates to the successful participants by them.
