Income Tax department surveys on jewellers and builders

AHMEDABAD: The Income Tax department on Thursday carried out surveys at offices and shops of bullion traders, jewelers, builder and car accessories sellers in the city.

The surveys by field range officers were carried out under Section 133A of the Income Tax Act at offices and shops of three bullion traders and four jewellers at Manek Chowk, CG Road and Khokhra. Officials checked stock, payments and account books.

In another development, I-T officers also conducted surveys at the offices and construction sites of a city-based builder. The surveys were carried out at offices in Law Garden and CG Road and sites at Vejalpur, Jodhpur and SG Road.

A survey was also conducted at a well-known car accessories shop at Mithakhali crossroads. The surveys began in the morning on Thursday and will continue on Friday as well.
