RAJKOT: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has intensified its tax recovery drives across the city to meet its financial year target of Rs 170 crore before the March 31.
The civic officials on Tuesday sealed two ATMs in Samrudhi Bhavan and Anand Plaza as the banks had failed to pay property tax.
On Tuesday, RMC's tax department teams sealed over 18 properties whose owners failed to pay property taxes. RMC officials said they have recovered Rs 30 lakh on Tuesday as property tax from different parts of the city.
RMC has already sealed 318 properties whose owners had failed to pay property tax. The civic body has disconnected drinking water connection to 240 houses too to recover tax dues.
RMC has so far collected over Rs 146 crore as property tax from the city.
