Realty expo will get under way today in Mysuru

MYSURU: The Mysuru Unit of Builders Association of India (BAI) in association with Centre and Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India will organize MyReality 2015, a four-day property expo at Jayamma Govinde Gowda Convention Hall in Kuvempunagar from September 10. 

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, MyRealty chairman BS Dinesh, said the BAI is creating an opportunity for safe real estate deals. "We have joined hands with the Confederation of Real Estate and Developers' Association of India (CREDAI), Mysuru Chapter, and will host only recognized builders. This year there are 48 stalls in the expo," he added. 

The entry fee collected will be used to provide healthcare to construction workers and their children under Mysore Builders Charitable Trust. Mayor Lingappa will inaugurate the expo on Thursday at 4pm. On Thursday, the entry will be free for the public and from September 11, they will have to pay Rs 20 per head. The expo will be held from 10am to 9pm. 

MyReality 2015 secretary KS Balaji Shetty, BAI Mysuru centre chairman MS Ramprasad, CREDAI secretary Chinnaswamy were present.

BENGALURU: The BBMP is proposing a 20 per cent raise in property taxes to cover the large gap in its revenues and expenditure. The civic body will send the proposal to the government on Thursday. "We are proposing the revision effective from April 1, 2016," BBMP Administrator TM Vijay Bhaskar told ET. He added that the property taxes in the City have not been revised since 2008 when the civic body introduced a self-assessment scheme for property taxes.
