Sobha bag awards at CIDC Vishwakarma 2014

BANGALORE:Realty major, Sobha Developers Ltd. has been bestowed with three prestigious awards at the 6th CIDC VISWAKARMA Awards 2014, which was held on Friday, 07th March 2014, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Sobha won the top honour for the ‘Best Professionally Managed Company’ (Turnover > INR 1000 crores) which inducts professionalism in all manifestations in its operations. The Company was also conferred with the ‘Social Development & Impact’ award for its CSR work in Kerala, through the Sri Kurumba Trust for its sterling contribution in social work. The Company’s project in Gurgaon,  the ‘International City’ bagged the ‘Construction Health, Safety & Environment’ award to reinforce the company’s respect for human life and well-being as reflected in the practices regarding Health, Safety & Environment in its project.

A Jury consisting of representatives of planning bodies, policy formulators and nodal organizations of the sector was constituted by CIDC to select the Award Winners. The jury consisted of 6 prominent members from the industry, in addition to about 20 Special Invitees & Evaluators. The jury was chaired by VK Gupta (Chairman of the Jury), director general – Central Public Works Department.

Sobha and its leadership team have also been revered by CIDC Vishwakarma awards on earlier occasions. Raj Pillai, executive director of Sobha’s Backward-Integrated facility – Concrete Products Division was awarded the CIDC Vishwakarma Award for his contribution to improving Indian concrete industry. The company’s CSR arm, Sri Kurumba Trust won the Achievement Award for Social Responsibility. On the contractual front, Sobha received the Achievement Award for the Best Project (Building) for Infosys Global Education Centre-II, Mysore.
