BANGALORE: The police on Friday formed two teams to investigate into the murder of two Bangalore-based realtors whose bodies were found with heads severed in Kollegal forest of Chamrajanagar district on Tuesday.
According to sources, one special investigating team is in the city to interrogate Arun Rao, resident of CV Raman Nagar, who had filed a complaint against one of the deceased in the city.
The police, it is learnt, detained a relative of Arun for questioning. However, the Chamarajanagar Superintendent Rajendra Prasad refused to comment. Meanwhile, the Byappanahalli police are investigating into the complaint filed by Arun Rao against Suji Thomas who allegedly had borrowed Rs. 2 crore. The police said that Arun was also a realtor but had his own business. He had filed the complaint in November 2012. However, the police are yet to determine if that had any connection with the murder.
A senior police official leading the investigation said that the bodies of the two realtors were buried only after all the evidence was collected for the DNA and chemical analysis.
“The bodies were partially burnt. As there is no cold storage unit in Kollegal, we collected the evidence and buried the bodies,” said an official. The deceased, Binu Thomas (35) and Suji Thomas (38), both from Kottayam in Kerala, were residing in HSR Layout and were reported missing when Binu’s wife filed a complaint with the HSR Layout police on February 9.
