PUNE: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai) Metro has welcomed the procedural changes in project approvals brought about by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

The changes will reducing bottlenecks in obtaining construction permits, the confederation said in a press statement.

Municipal commissioner Mahesh Pathak recently announced measures to decongest the approval process and speed up revenue collections for the building permissions department.

Credai will continue to engage with officials at the PMC to improve its operational efficiency, while also ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations, the statement added.

“Faster approvals are ultimately in the interest of the home buyer as they reduce the holding cost for the developer, thereby reducing the total cost to the home buyer,” Credai Metro president Hemant Naiknavare said.

The PMC has also streamlined the process of loading of FSI with regard to land taken from the developers for amenity spaces, reservations and roads. This will ensure that projects are able to load the FSI for the land they hand over to the PMC sooner and will facilitate revenue earning at the earliest, the statement added.
