PUNE: The PimpriChinchwad Municipal Corporation will start a survey of properties within the municipal limits from September 1.
Besides verifying whether the property owners are paying tax, the civic body will also check if the household drainage lines are connected to the underground drainage system.
Assistant commissioner Bhanudas Gaikwad said the employees will conduct a survey of each property within the municipal limits.
“The officials will check whether the property is authorized, if any extension work has been done and if the use of property has changed from residential to commercial,” he said. They will also check if the shops or commercial establishments are paying charges for displaying the names of the shops, he added.
Last month, municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi had told the general body that a fresh survey of properties would be conducted. Steps will be taken to register them for increasing the civic body’s income through property tax, he had said.
