Property dealer abducted at gunpoint

NAGPUR: A dispute over property documents turned ugly after real estate dealer Shivaji Sarange was kidnapped at gunpoint by four persons who also snatched Rs40,000 cash from him on February 14. Gittikhadan police have registered an offence against Gurmeetsingh Bhamra alias Lucky, Paramjeetsingh Bhatia alias Bittu and two others, including driver of a vehicle having registration number MH 01 4671.

Sarange and Bhamra have a dispute over property records. Sarange has been trying to get NIT to issue a demand note on Bhamra's property at Nari.

An enraged Bhamra and his accomplices had started following the real estate dealer from his residence at Jai Durga Society in Bandhu Nagar on last Friday. They intercepted Sarange's vehicle in front of NIT office and hijacked his car with the complainant inside it. They took him to a hotel at Sadar while thrashing him on the way. Later, Sarange was forcibly made to part with the cash at gunpoint.
