Real eatate agent shot dead by friend during Holi party

BADLAPUR: A 48-year-old real estate agent was shot dead by his friend at a Holi party in Badlapur area on Sunday night.

The police has arrested accused, Mahendra Bagul,38, who has several criminal cases against him.

According to the Badlapur police, on Sunday night deceased Santosh Salvi had gone to the Station Pada area to attend a Holi party organized by his friends.

I R Andhalkar, Senior Police Inspector of Badlapur police station, said, "There were total of five friends including Salvi and Bagul at the party. During the party an altercation broke out between the victim and Bagul after which Bagul pulled out a gun and shot Chavan in the abdomen from a close range".

After the shooting, Bagul fled from the spot and Chavan was rushed to the nearby Shushrit hospital. He was shifted from there to Dr Lavantare's hospital but was declared brought dead.

Police said Chavan was real estate agent and he was staying in Katrap area situated in Badlapur east while Bagul lived in the Station Road area.

Police said this is the third crime committed by Bagul in the last three months.

Six month ago he was arrested for firing on BJP leader Sharad Mahatre in Ambernath and three months back he was arrested by Ulhasnagar crime branch for carrying three illegal revolvers but later was released on the bail.
