BHUBANESWAR: The branch manager of district unit of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group was arrested by local police on Sunday for cheating investors of crores of rupees.

The company, according to an official estimation, raised about `25 crore from Jagatsinghpur market by luring investors with interest of about 30 per cent per annum. The company lured customers from mostly Jagatsinghpur, Balikuda, Biridi, Nuagaon and Raghunathpur areas of the district. When villagers did not get their returns on time, they filed a case with the Jagatsinghpur police station against AT Group branch manager Akhil Kumar Lenka who was absconding after the irregularities came to fore.

On a tip off, police arrested Lenka on Sunday from his village Murunia. He was remanded in judicial custody.
