BHUBANESWAR: After bringing down a five-storied building in Ashoknagar, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has geared up to blacklist an empmelled architect who had submitted the plan approval for the illegal structure.

The Orissa High Court November 29 ordered stay on the demolition of the illegal structure which was being razed by the development authority; forcing BDA to stop demolishing it.

Sources said the architect would be blacklisted and action taken against him for submitting building plan approval of all illegal high-rise in violation of the norms.

BDA sources said despite the factinaaniumfloor area ratio (FAR) of three unit is permitred, the architect had submitted plan approval of an FAR of 4.5 to BDA planning wing which is a blatant violation.

BDA vice chairman Vishal x DLv said proceedings against the empanelled architect would begin soon as he had violated the norms. Dev further said the BDA is contemplating to raze 34 more illegal highrises, blatantly violating the Orissa Development Authority (ODA) Act.

"When he knew the building was illegal then why did he submit the plan approval to the planning wing. Besides, he had also ignored the fact that there was no provision of a basement parking," a highly-placed source told DYISSQ POST
