BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has done a Railways. Beginning August 5, it will introduce a Tatkal Scheme for dishing out quick approval of building plans.
The scheme will require applicants to cough up more as fees to compensate for the long wait-list. However, it will apply only for building plans on plots pre-approved by General Administration (GA) Department, BDA and Odisha State Housing Board.
Structures or buildings under 5,381.96 sq feet space and three stories high will come under the Tatkal Scheme’s coverage. As of now, it will not be available for construction on private plots.
The pre-approved plots will enable the BDA to process the applications faster by eliminating the need for intensive inspection required for private land.
Normally, it takes around 60 days to get a building plan approved by the BDA for which the applicant has to pay anything between ` 500 and `1,000, depending on the building size. With the tatkal scheme in place, the building plan can be processed faster by paying higher fees. Under the new scheme, the applicant will have to pay `3,000 for a construction within 2,152.78 sq feet and ` 5,000 for any construction within 2,152- 5,381 sq feet.
