BJP State President KV Singhdeo
BHUBANESWAR: State BJP president KV Singhdeo on Sunday held the government squarely responsible for the chit fund scam and said the judicial commission instituted by the government is a cover-up exercise. He kicked off the third leg of his statewide mass contact campaign from Keonjhar district.
"The judicial probe will lead to nowhere. Several judicial commissions instituted earlier had not given any report so far," KV said.
Upping the ante against the ruling BJD on mining scam, KV said the multi-crore 'mining loot' during the Naveen Patnaik regime started from Keonjhar district. "People of Keonjhar will give him a befitting reply," he said.
KV, accompanied by several senior party leaders, would cover Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Balasore districts during the ongoing phase.
Days after taking over reign of the state BJP on March 13, KV embarked on the ambitious contact drive from Hindol in Dhenkanal district on March 29. He visited Hindu seer Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati's assassination site at Jalespeta ashram and his cremation place at Chakapada in Kandhamal district.
Wooing the tribal electorate, KV launched phase II of his campaign from Kalahandi district and toured tribal-dominated Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Gajapati districts.
