MoU on immovable property of Jagannath temple signed

BHUBANESWAR: The Sri Jaganath Temple Administration (SJTA) today signed an MoU with the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) to develop and sell immovable property of Lord Jagannath temple. Chief Administrator of SJTA Mr Arabinda Padhee and BDA Vice-Chairman Krishan Kumar signed the agreement in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

SJTA will identify and demarcate the land intended for disposal and BDA will take up the infrastructure development. The BDA will facilitate disposal of the land.

The SJTA wanted to develop and dispose of about 2500 acres of land in a phased manner, said Mr Padhee.

In the first phase SJTA wants to hand over about 220 acres of land to BDA for development.The BDA  will develop and dispose the land in three years.

Padhee said the SJTA hopes to get Rs 1,000 crore from the land and the BDA would get five per cent towards fees for the development of the land.
