BHUBANESWAR: With more skeletons are tumbling out of the closets in the multi-crore chit fund and real estate scam in the State, some investors here have lodged a complaint with Chandrasekharpur police against Dhiraj Constructions and Marketing Pvt Ltd alleging a fraud of Rs 2.7 crore.
Investors alleged that the company, which duped at least 13 investors, failed to provide them flats as per agreement. The investors alleged the company demanded more money as the price of the plots has gone up.
According to reports, the company, owned by Dhirendra Kumar Jena, had its office at Samanta Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits. After the demise of Jena in 2012, his wife Meena Kumari Samal took over as Managing Director and shifted the office to Acharya Vihar.
The company, in 2010-11, under its Ananta Sai Enclave project at Kalaharanga, signed agreements with the investors to provide 2-bhk and 3bhk flats at a cost of Rs 161akh and Rs 21:54akh-rgspectively. Under the "agreerement the comany assured to handed over 2-bhkflats in November 2012 and the 3-bhk flats in February 2013, but failed to do so.
When the investors demanded pos¬session of the flats as per agreements, the company officials demanded more money, at the current market price, to make avail the flats.
"I deposited Rs 161akh and booked a 2-bhk flat. Company had assured to provide possession of the flat but now the new MD is refusing to provide the possession at the agreed rates," said an investor Subrat Mishra.
However, after initial denials by the Saheed Nagar and Chandrasekharpur police to register complaints citing jurisdiction reasons, Chandrasekharpur police had accepted the cbm
had assured to initiate inquiry after investigation.
