JAIPUR: Looking at the weak financial condition of the municipal corporations, urban development and housing (UDH) minister Shanti Dhariwal on Wednesday directed the Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) to transfer funds for undertaking road repair and construction.
The RHB will transfer money to the corporations of three cities. An official said the board has been directed to give Rs 20 crore each to Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Jodhpur Municipal Corporation and Rs 10 crore to Kota Municipal Corporation.
The state government has also directed the RHB to increase the profit share of municipal corporations from land auctions.
Earlier, the local self-government department had directed RHB to pay 15% share of land sale (auction) revenues to the JMC regularly. However, directions are being given to increase the share up to 25%.
