KANPUR: Integrated townships would be developed on outskirts of the city soon. This decision was taken in a meeting which was attended by the divisional commissioner and KDA vice-chairman.
Each township would be developed on 25 acres of land. In each township, 10% houses would be for economically weaker sections and 10% for low income groups. The cost of those houses would be between Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs.
Meanwhile, KDA had floated tenders for building construction in Shatabdi Nagar phase-IV. The authority would construct 2,256 EWS, 736 LIG and 1,216 MIG buildings. According to executive engineer S K Srivastava, KDA had floated tenders for construction of EWS and LIG flats at Jawharpuram Extension, Gangaganj and Shatabdi Nagar Phase III. Tenders would be finalized by the end of this month and thereafter work would begin at sites.
KDA would make available around 10,000 plots for residents. KDA would develop more than 1,000 residential plots at Chakeri and Rooma. After correspondence with state officials, KDA had sent a proposal to the state government for land conversion at Chakeri and Rooma. KDA had identified around 31 hectares of land in two villages.
