Property worth lakhs destroyed in fire

GORAKHPUR: Valuables worth Rs 3 lakh burnt to ashes when a house caught fir in Miyan Bazaar at around 2 pm on Thursday.

House owner claims it to be a mischief as it was the third time hi house caught fire in his absence in since January 2013.

According to reports, Budhai Lal (60) son of Jokhu Lal lives in Miyan Bazar area. His son-in-law, Raju Kashya (35) also lives on the first floor of the house with his wife Shalu Kashyap and two children.

On Thursday morning the whole family locked the house and went to Jharkhandi Shiv Temple for Mahashivratri puja and when they returned in the afternoon they saw smoke coming out of their house.

On entering the house they found that fire had spread in the house. They immediately called fire brigade and police.

Budhai Lal has lodged a complaint in the police station against unidentified miscreants as this was the third time when their house caught fire in their absence since January 2013.

"It seems that some people are conspiring against us as it is the third time when my house caught fire in our absence within a year. I'm unable to trace the identity of the miscreants," Budhai said.

Police has registered a case in this regard and has launched an investigation.
