KANPUR: The economically weaker sections would soon get a house under Asara Awas Yojana. The state government had released funds for this scheme.

DUDA project officer Nidhi Bajpai said that a scheme for economically weaker persons was prepared about one year back and sent to the state government for sanction. Under this scheme, as many as 1,620 houses would be allotted. The construction work would soon begin, she added.

As many as 1,500 houses would be constructed at Sajari locality while 120 would be developed near AND College in Brahma Nagar. For Sajari project, the state government had sanctioned Rs 4 crores. For Brahma Nagar, a sum of Rs 85 lakhs had been released. She said that construction would begin soon.
