Mumbai: Ten thousand cooperative housing societies in Mumbai would also get the benefit of 0.33 per cent fungible FSI (floor space index) for the buildings going in for redevelopment. The 69 Gavthans and the fisermen colonies which fall under CRZ would also benefit.
BJP Mumbai unit president and MLA Ashish Shelar informed that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has given instructions to municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte for sending the proposal in this regard to the urban development department. Shelar told reporters that he led a delegation which met Fadnavis and presented the demands. He informed that the chief minister has also instructed Nitin Karir, principal secretary of urban development, to expedite this proposal as soon as it is received from the BMC.
Shelar informed that there are cooperative housing societies which are going for redevlopment and availing the benefit of 0.33 fungible FSI. He also informed that Fadnavis readily agreed to sort out the genuine problems and has issued instructions so that these 10,000 odd cooperative housing societies would also get the benefit of fungible FSI before going for redevelopment.
