Bhubaneswar Development Authority
BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday decided to set up four divisional offices for faster delivery of services such as building plan approval. A meeting chaired by housing and urban development minister and BDA chairman Puspendra Singh Deo took the decision, BDA sources said.
The offices would be strategically located at different places within BDA jurisdiction for convenience of denizens. They no longer have to travel to the BDA headquarters, a senior BDA officer said. The development authority has also decided to launch two group housing projects at Paikarapur, on the outskirts of the city. It will have 160 one BHK units, 112 two BHK units and 96 three BHK houses.
The BDA would open a town planning cell for development of land to be used for building purposes. It has decided to discontinue conditional approval to building plans, which has resulted in several developers starting projects but failing to meet the stipulations at the time of completion. The meeting approved a rehabilitation project worth Rs 16 crore for 239 slum dwellers of Tarini Basti and Arabinda Basti spread over Damana, Gadakan and Chandrasekharpur.
