Belagavi CREDAI to host 'Statecon 2015'

BELAGAVI: Belagavi unit of confederation of real estate developers association of India (CREDAI) will be hosting 'Statecon-2015', an annual state level convention of CREDAI, Karnataka this time in city on September 2nd and 3rd. Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the event.

As many as 29 eminent speakers from various parts of the country will deliver lectures on various issued relating to real estate development during two-day event. Belagavi CREDAI president Qais Noorani said in a press conference here on Thursday that, more than 600 delegates from Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra will take part in the convention comprising prominent engineers and contractors, architects and planners, construction material manufacturing companies and students of engineering and architecture.

Noorani said urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, small scale industries minister Satish Jarkiholi and housing minister Ambareesh will be the other among key participants. Key topics to be discussed in the different sessions are- concept of Smart City in connection to Karnataka, avenues of funding for developers, balancing business growth with customer protection, understanding CRS activities, new construction technologies, skill development, corporate responsibilities of developers, opportunities to developers in the next five years etc.

MUMBAI: Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) on Monday upheld an order by market regulator Sebi against Jaipur-based real estate major PACL Ltd and directed it to refund Rs 49,100 crore that the company had collected through what the tribunal termed as 'sham collective investment scheme (CIS)'. This was the largest CIS in the country so far — in terms of money collected as well as the number of investors involved — against which Sebi had passed an order.
