CHENNAI: A builder has sought the help of the city police saying a group of thugs and some residents of slum tenements at B S Murthy Nagar in Pulianthope on Tuesday prevented the construction of a compound wall on the periphery of their complex.

Based on a complaint from K Deivasigamani, site manager for the joint venture between Arihant Unitech and PVP Ventures, the Otteri police issued a community service register (CSR), a preliminary document before an FIR is registered.

The protesters allegedly staged a protest against raising of the compound wall claiming that the builder was trying to encroach upon Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board property. Following this, the builder brought a land surveyor to measure the land. It was reportedly confirmed that the builder was constructing the compound wall on his land.
