INDORE: In a setback to Omaxe City-I, which is surrounded by controversy over encroachment on government land, Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh high court on Thursday, directed to dispose off all cases filed against the whistle-blower by developers of the township.
Double bench of Justices PK Jaiswal and Alok Verma directed Vijay Nagar CSP to dispose all 16 complaints, including two criminal cases, against petitioner Punit Govil, by the township within four months from the date of order, and submit a detailed report before court. HC observed that in case of failure to comply with the order, court will take appropriate action and may draw contempt proceedings against police.
Petitioner Punit Govil said that several complaints, including criminal cases were filed against him by the township. "I came clean during trial and proved that cases were filed in vendetta, despite HC order of 2013, police is not withdrawing cases against me and they continue to threaten and pressurize me and my family," added Govil.
He added that challenging police inaction and non-compliance of court order, a case was filed before double bench. "I have also filed a case against builder and chargesheet has been filed in the case in July 2013, under section 341 (wrongful restrain), 294 (obscene act) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, before additional chief judicial magistrate, but police is not acting against builder," said Govil.
