GURGAON: An FIR was filed against a realty company on Wednesday for allegedly encroaching on a natural drain and revenue road in the Gwalpahari area after a complaint by the MCG's chief engineer.
The company, Paras Buildtech Limited, however, said it had been wrongly implicated.
The MCG had served the builder two notices — one in 2012, asking it to vacate the land that belongs to the civic body, and a second in December 2014, seeking a stop to the construction work. Paras got a stay on the MCG's directives from a court in Sohna this February till the natural drain was demarcated afresh. Though the MCG is yet to complete the demarcation, it got an inspection done by the enforcement team on April 21. It allegedly revealed the builder had encroached upon a revenue road that led to the drain and built a gate across it.
A police complaint was filed by MCG executive engineer (enforcement) VP Yadav. "We have lodged an FIR as they have encroached upon MCG land," said Yadav. Paras Buildtech MD Harindra Nagar said, "We are being wrongly implicated. The local administration has taken this step without seeking a clarification from us and due procedures were not followed."
