GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat Waqf Board has announced the implementation of the provisions of the newly-enacted central law, the ‘Waqf (amendment) Act-2013', in the state from November 1, 2013. GANDHINAGAR: The state cabinet has cleared four low-cost housing schemes under the Mukhyamantri Aavas Samruddhi Yojana for the lower income group (LIG), the middle income group (MIG) and the urban poor. However, the government is yet to announce an affordable housing policy. The schemes approved are slum-rehabilitation scheme; housing schemes for neo-middle class, economically weaker sections and low-income group and a scheme for ‘in situ’ pukka houses for slum-dwellers.
New policy for land regularization in Kutch

GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat government on the Kutchi new year announced a new policy for regularizing excess land holdings in Kutch district. Under the new policy, lands found to be up to 20% more than that mentioned in records will be regularized by charging one time jantri rate.
