'Influence zones' proposed near metro rail stations

HYDERABAD: If Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority's plans materialise, only high-rise buildings with minimum 40 metre height will be encouraged in 'influence zones' (an area in a radius of 300 to 800 metres) around metro rail and MMTS stations soon. Also, mixed land use, where property developers can exploit real estate for commercial, residential, recreational and other purposes, will be allowed in these zones.

SCB to soon have mixed land use zones

HYDERABAD: The Secunderabad Cantonment area may soon have mixed land use zones for the overall development of its civilian areas. This is being proposed as part of the master plan for the area to be implemented between 2014 and 2021 and it will allow usage of land for all purposes like residential, commercial and recreational.

HMDA rejects plea of 69 colleges to regularize buildings

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has rejected Building Penalization Scheme (BPS) applications of 69 professional colleges and other educational institutions located in the surrounding areas of the city for not complying with rules and requirements for regularization. Though the HMDA can demolish the unauthorized buildings at any time, the officials are going slow on the managements.
