GURGAON: Disgruntled homebuyers of Emaar MGF's Palm Terrace on Golf Course Extension Road in Sector 66 staged a protest against the builder, alleging a two-year delay in delivery, at the construction site on Saturday.
The protesters alleged the developer was supposed to hand over the flats in 2013 and that most of them have paid over Rs 1 crore, but have still not got the possession.
"I have been paying instalments of Rs 70,000 every month. Every time, we approach the realtor, we are told that possession will take another three to four months. We are not even allowed to go inside the site and see the state of work," said Yash Handa, a resident of Sector 53, who had booked a flat in the project in 2010.
The developer, however, denied the charges. An official statement from the Emaar MGF stated, "The company has commenced the first phase of handover of units. It will be completed in two phases. The current phase will cover eight towers of projects named Sky Terraces and Palm Terraces, low-rise units of Garden Terraces, and EWS 9 units. The remaining will be handed over in subsequent phases."
Palm Terrace was launched in 2010 and was to be delivered by 2013.
