BHOPAL: In a case of real life imitating reel life, a debt-ridden property dealer stabbed his minor son before attempting suicide here late on Thursday. Fearing trouble for his action of pressuring the property dealer to get back his money, a money lender also attempted suicide.
All three are battling for life in a hospital.
The police said property dealer Om Prakash Mali is a resident of area. A resident of Leeladhar Colony in old city, Mali had sold a piece of land recently, but was yet to receive Rs 5 lakh of the deal.
In the meantime, he purchased a plot from a person identified as Madho Prasad Sharma and promised to make full payment once he gets outstanding sum from his previous deal.
According to the police, Mali remained disturbed as Sharma was exerting pressure for money.
On Thursday night, Mali took his 5-year-old son Aditya with him on a bike and stabbed him near a nullah in Shabri Nagar. He later stabbed himself and jumped into the nullah. But there was not enough water, the police added.
On spotting minor boy crying with stab injury on road, passers-by told the police who, in turn admitted Mali and his son in hospital. The police said Mali had also written a suicide note in which he had stated that Sharma was pressuring him for money.
When Sharma learnt that Mali had attempted suicide mentioning his name, he too attempted suicide by consuming poison, the police added.
All three of them remained hospitalised till filing of the report.
