NOIDA: Over nine lakh sq. metre land was freed in an anti-encroachment drive on the Yamuna riverbed by the Noida and Greater Noida authorities in last two days. The chairman of the two authorities, Rama Raman, has alerted all the officials that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of supporting land sharks.
On Saturday, the Authority had freed four lakh sq. metre land in Momnathal and Kondali village areas. On Sunday, five lakh sq. metre land was cleared in Sectors 144, 140A, 143, 150, and Sehdara, Suthiyana and Lakhnawali villages.
"The Authority had conducted several anti-encroachment drives in Noida. Despite stringent actions, illegal establishments mushroomed again. So now, we have decided to take on land sharks intensively," Noida Authority chairman and CEO Rama Raman, said.
"To avoid legal trouble, it is advisable for buyers to check whether the property is genuine or not," he added.
