GURGAON: Residents whose plot gets subdivided may be in for good news.
A subcommittee of the MCG on Thursday suggested lifting of a ban on sanction of building plan if the plot in question is subdivided.
At present, the MCG does not issue the building plan of a plot if it is further divided.
"If the proposal is accepted by the state government, it will bring huge relief to hundreds of plot owners," an MCG official said.
For example, now, if an owner who owns a 1,000-sq-yard plot wants to divide it into four parts, he cannot do so as the MCG does not permit it and does not issue a building plan. Hence, the building plan will not be sanctioned.
"We have received several such applications that are pending before us in the past two years," the official said.
This committee was formed after several councillors demanded in the last House meeting that this restriction be lifted to bring relief to hundred of house owners . "The committee has also suggested that the MCG should sanction the building plan of those commercial establishments which are located on roads that are more than nine metres wide," the official said.
These suggestions will be presented at the MCG House meeting on Friday and after being approved, they will be sent to the state government for the final approval. "We hope the approval is given soon," the official said.
