BHUBANESWAR: IDCO has sought administrative approval for acquisition of 476.51 acres of private land in 11 villages of Angul district for extension of the main corridor as part of the common infrastructure corridor project in Talcher coalfields.
Besides, IDCO has requested the State Government to lease out 302.05 acres of Government land for extension of corridor as per the alignment marked by RITES, the consultant for the project.
The Government has already granted administrative approval for acquiring 642.97 acres of private land and 311.29 acres of Government land, totaling 954.27 acres, in 18 villages under Chhendipada tehsil for establishment of the corridor. Besides, administrative approval for acquisition of 1479.6 acres has already been granted for the proposed inner corridor.
In a letter to the State Government, IDCO said RITES has recommended further requirement of 778.57 acres in 11 villages of Chhendipada and Kaniha tehsils for extension of the main corridor up to the Mandakini loading point. Meanwhile, in a bid to fast track the proposed common corridor, the State Government has asked RITES to submit the detailed project report (DPR) next month.
