NOIDA: Ten buyers associations from across NCR have now threatened to launch protests from July 19, stating they feel "used and disregarded by interest groups". Despite much heartburn, they said there is no relief in sight for NCR flat buyers, harried by delayed possession, increased floor area ratio, NGT orders, extra charges and other such issues.

"Politicians use buyers to push their agendas. Our concerns are serious. We are under huge financial pressure. We want to move into houses we've bought with our hard-earned money. Us middleclass buyers have run from pillar to post to have our demands heard, but no one seems really concerned with our issues. Despite all the tall promises, delays and mounting additional charges have not abated. This beside legal issues such as Okhla Bird Sactuary," said P S Jain, president of the confederation of NCR residents welfare association (CONRWA).

"We have approached (Congress vice-president) Rahul Gandhi, Union minister Prakash Javadekar, Noida MP Mahesh Sharma (BJP). We've held meetings with the Noida authority chairman and even the special committee set up for the Real Estate Regulatory Act. Everybody left us in the lurch. We've become pawns in the hands of the powers in power," said Indrish Gupta, co-founder of Noida Extension flat owners' welfare association (NEFOWA).

"This time, we will not avoid political colour. We'll just protest and demonstrate to highlight our concerns. Politicians of all parties have failed buyers. We need make noise about the whole host of promises not kept by builders," Gupta said.
