BANGALORE: There is some good news for prospective homebuyers. The National Housing Bank (NHB) is focusing on bridging the demand-supply gap. Recently, the NHB decided to use a significant portion of its tax-free bonds’ proceeds to shore up long-term fixed-rate mortgage loans, especially for the low income and middle income housing in urban areas and suburbs.
IIFL home bonds oversubscribed

CHENNAI: The issuance of unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures by India Infoline Housing Finance Limited (IIHFL), the housing finance subsidiary of IIFL Holdings Limited, has been oversubscribed 2.24 times of the base issue. Based on stock exchange data, total collections stood at Rs 224.5 crore, which is 2.24 times of the base issue.
Home prices rise up to 8% in 16 cities, Mumbai stagnant during October-December

DELHI: Apartments priced under Rs 5,000 per sq ft account for nearly three out of four homes sold in Mumbai, National Capital Region, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai over the past year, data from real estate research firm Liases Foras shows. While such homes comprised 73% of the total sales in these areas, the figure was an even higher 84% in Bangalore and Pune.
