PATNA: Tightening its noose on illegal highrise buildings in the city, the court of Patna municipal commissioner Kuldip Narayan on Monday ordered demolition of illegal parts of three buildings.
The one developed by Pankaj Kumar Sinha of Bhaskar Homes Limited is located in Kankarbagh area. It is 30.64 metres high against the building plan of only 24.70 metres, excluding the height of lift machine and staircase on the terrace. Any building, to be constructed more than 23 metres high, needs an NOC from the Airports Authority of India. The PMC court has declared the top two floors of the B+G+6 structure as illegal and ordered to demolish within 30 days.
The second building is developed by Nalini Singh at Nehru Nagar. The court said the developer constructed two blocks of 15.40 metres and 15.55 metres height, respectively, against the approved height of 14.99 metres. Also, the road in front of the buildings is six metres wide though no building should be more than 15 metres tall unless facing 20 feet wide road. Thus, the fifth floor of one of the blocks has been declared illegal.
Another such building belonging to one Sudha Sinha is on B M Das Road. Its fifth floor is to be demolished. If the owners fail to demolish the illegal parts, the PMC will do it and the cost incurred on it will be charged from the
