NOIDA: Home buyers and developers in the district got some relief on Sunday after the Noida Authority chairman said that no action will be taken against developers and projects in Noida and Greater Noida which adhere to the environment ministry's 2010 guidelines. He said there was no reason for buyers and builders to panic.

The authority's chairman Rama Raman's response followed buyers and developers fearing a ban on their projects.

"Neither buyers nor developers need to panic. No construction site has been sealed so far. We will not take action against developers who are adhering to the environment ministry's 2010 norms," said Raman. He also asked buyers and developers to directly contact the authority officials if they face any problem.

Saying that the Noida and Greater Noida authorities are committed to implement the NGT's order, Raman said, "We have asked developers to submit regular environment clearance reports with respective authorities." Teams have been formed to physically inspect the projects in the district.

Some developers have already taken steps including sprinkling water and covering the construction materials.
