BHOPAL: Promising partnership in housing projects, a company allegedly duped a retired Indian Air Force officer of Rs 8 lakh. A case was filed at MP Nagar police station of the city on Saturday.
Complainant Raghvendra Singh Kushwaha, 55, a resident of Raksha Vihar in Bairagarh accused Babban Prasad, a realtor in MP Nagar, of duping him.
Kushwaha told TOI he came in contact with accused through in January 2014 a person Anil Kumar, also retired from army and resides in his colony.
The accused convinced him of making investment in his housing projects on a profit-sharing basis. The complainant paid him Rs 8 lakh in installments.
When the housing project did not start and the complainant insisted on getting back his money, the accused gave him cheques, which had bounced.
In the meantime, the accused escaped from city locking his office and residence after which the matter was reported to police. Kushwaha said he is not the only victim and the accused in question duped many others in a similar fashion and claimed he has proofs of the forgery.
Police said the efforts remain underway to nab the accused.
