Synergy Property wins $35 m order from Signature Group

BANGALORE: Synergy Property Development Services, the global project management consulting and turnkey solution company, has bagged a design and project management contract from Dubai-based Signature Group to manage a mixed-use development project worth $35 million in Maputo, the capital and largest city of Mozambique.

The 24-month contract is for mixed-use development of a retail mall, office spaces and residential towers along with other associated amenities with a total built-up area of 400,000 square feet.

Sankey Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director - Synergy Property Development Services, said: “It is a promising start to the New Year and further strengthens our foothold in the African region. We are seeing a good pick-up in activities in the key regions we are focused on, and we are well-positioned to take advantage of the upturn in 2014.”

Under the contract, Synergy will develop strategies and manage the entire design and development of the project including architectural design, MEP services, structural design services, assisting with the qualification of contractors, engineering, procurement management, construction management and will be responsible for time, cost, quality and environmental health and safety standards.

KOLKATA: Housing starts in large cities such as Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore have slowed down, according to the Housing Start-Up Index, a new indicator of housing construction, released by the Reserve Bank of India and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA) on Monday.
